Our son, James Sullivan Peschke joined us Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:25PM cst. He was 8lbs 12oz and 20 1/2" long! He was born at home (more on that later) in the water, and his Daddy was able to be here for it all!
James being weighed about 1.5 hours after birth
James and Mommy shortly after birth tucked into Mommy's bed!As if that weren't enough excitement, yesterday, Chris's cousin, Ryan and his wife, Nicole, welcomed their first child, a son, RJ into the world at 7:33PM! Just the beginning of the new year, and our family has already grown by 4 feet! Congratulations Ryan and Nicole, and new grandparents Cindy and Rick!

We're still waiting for our little man. He's decided he's really comfy in there and doesn't want to come out. I've done acupuncture, walking, and a couple of other "natural" methods to no avail. Today I'm going to try some red raspberry leaf tea and evening primrose oil. If it is unsuccessful tonight, I will continue it tomorrow even though Chris is going to Green Bay for work in the morning. Hopefully I won't have the baby while he's gone, but at this point, I'll just be happy to have the baby!

Those of you that know me, know that I am not the World's most patient person by any stretch of the imagination. If I'm buying concert tickets, I will pay the extra $10 to get them instantly and print them instead of waiting for them to come in the mail. The same for Netflix movies, if I can watch it instantly, I will. However, this little baby doesn't seem to know that, and hasn't made any definitive moves to come out. I will probably schedule an accupuncture appointment for tomorrow morning...hopefully that will get something going!
I would appreciate any and all positive thoughts and prayers for labor to start soon, and for it to be a fairly quick experience for both baby James and I.
I'm losing my patience, I want to meet him, to hold him, to love on him, and to share him with his siblings...come on out little man, we're all anxious to meet you!

No, the baby hasn't come yet...he's not even due until Friday. Just FYI.
Chris and I stayed up to welcome the new year in OUR time-zone (Central) despite the fact that only 1 television station bothered to cover it here in Chi-town. Thank you ABC 7 Chicago!!!! We were both amazed that FOX skipped over Central entirely and went from New York directly to Las Vegas. We were both like "What just happened?" when they all the sudden were broadcasting from inside of casinos. Whatever. This is why we don't watch FOX, this, and the fact that they cancelled Firefly and won't give up the rights to air it on another network. - yeah, so there's that. However, FOX DOES employ one super-awesome reporter named Trish Van Pilsum and I follow her stories on the net, if you haven't seen them, google her!
Anyway, we welcomed 2011 with a kiss and a few kicks from our little guy on the inside, and have acknowledged that he is going to come when he wants to, and that our pattern of "Every 2 years" is now officially broken.-HA! We are patiently awaiting this little guy, and in the mean time, are going to be as prepared as we can be, and enjoy the last few days as a family of 5. :-)
Happy New Year to All!

Nothing says Christmas like waking up to your kid whining, crying, and throwing up all over themselves and their bed! Yep, that strange, feverless 12-hour bug Ruthie had about 2 weeks ago has struck again! Charlie woke up with it this morning, and though he says he feels better now, I just can't trust that (because she said she felt fine when she went to school...). It's a bummer, but we're plugging along. I'm heading out to pick up the pies, and probably going to get a back-up plan for tomorrow just in case this bug hangs on and the family can't come up. The important thing is that we're here together, and we're all getting some extra cuddle time!
Merry Christmas Everyone! PS. I won't be allowing anyone to eat the Gingerbread house Charlie made...just as a precaution!
